Today's Good Thing Thursday 08-07-21

Today's Good Thing: Asjad

Time: 2:50 pm

Meeting: Doncaster

ASJAD, who showed his rivals a clean pair of heels on debut at Salisbury. Who also looked the part when scoring at Salisbury

Today's Good Thing: Al Aasy

Time: 3:35 pm

Meeting: Newmarket

AL AASY won the Bahrain Trophy on this card 12 months ago and, after a disappointing effort next time at Glorious Goodwood, the son of Sea The Stars was given a break. He has taken his form to a new level this year, winning effortlessly in Group 3 contests at Newbury before almost winning the Group 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom. He is by far the best horse in this race and, getting 3lb from Sir Ron Priestley, he should get back to winning ways before a tilt at the King George at Ascot. Mark Johnston’s 2019 St Leger runner-up has struggled the last twice at York and Ascot and has questions to answer, while Bangkok is better on the all-weather and Star Safari needs to prove himself outside of the UAE. AL AASY was touched off in the Coronation Cup and remains a Group 1 winner in waiting. He sets a good standard back at the scene of his victory in the Bahrain Trophy at this meeting last summer and should be hard to beat.
