Today's Good Thing Thursday 24-06-21
Today's Good Thing: Maybury
Time: 1:50 pm
MAYBURY brings the best form to the table, finishing third behind the smart Oscula (placed in the Albany at Royal
Ascot last week) in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom earlier this month, and he could make it third-time lucky.
The other experienced runners all need to improve a fair bit to get up to his level, so it’s probably best looking at the
newcomers in terms of dangers. Having been pitched in quite deep on second start, MAYBURY excelled himself when third in the
Woodcote 3 weeks ago and a repeat of that level of form may well be good enough.
Today's Good Thing: Open Mind
Time: 2:35 pm
OPEN MIND took a decent step forward when third at Sandown on his second outing earlier in the month and the drop back to 6f
is unlikely to be an issue for Saeed bin Suroor’s colt, with this appearing to be a decent opportunity to get off the mark.
OPEN MIND’s Sandown third sets the standard here so he’s preferred to Ripon-second Boondoggle and Marco Botti’s Sharp Riposte
in a race which will likely revolve around those 3 unless the betting speaks in favour of one or more of the newcomers.
Today's Good Thing: Private Signal
Time: 5:45 pm
Charlie Appleby holds a strong hand courtesy of PRIVATE SIGNAL, who is taken to build on the considerable promise of his openi
ng second at Doncaster, and Stormy Ocean, a 480,000 gns Frankel newcomer.
